Overview

Khentii Mountain range becomes the southern tip of the Siberia. Therefore it resembles Siberian nature with larch tree forests, mountains with long valleys, crystal clear rivers and meadows that are covered with wild flowers. Trekking through this wilderness of Chingis Khaan’s birthplace gives you easy terrain with breathtaking views and secluded little corners for camping.

Itinerary

  • expand_more Day 1:  Arrive Ulaanbaatar, city sight seeing. Kempinski Hotel Khan Palace
    Arrival in Ulaanbaatar the capital city of Mongolia. You will be welcomed at the airport by your local guide and driver who will transfer you to the comfortable hotel in down town.  Depending on your flight we will have some optional sights to visit this day before resting for the night.   • expand_more Day 2: Sightseeing day in Ulaanbaatar
    Sightseeing day in Ulaanbaatar. This morning after breakfast we will have a full day of city sightseeing through the major sites of Ulaanbaatar, including Sukhbaatar Square, National Museum, Gandan Monastery, Zaisan Memorial Hill and Bogd King’s Winter Palace Museum. In the evening before dinner we will be entertained with the folk music concert that presents very unique art of age-old Mongolian traditional singing, dancing and music. Kempinski Hotel. /B, L, D/
  • expand_more Day 3:  Drive to Terelj National Park start camping. Tented night
    Drive to Dugan Tsagaan in Terelj National Park. This morning we will drive short distance out of Ulaanbaatar into Terelj National Park a place of mountains with forests, rivers, meadows of flowers as well as nomad families in the wide-open valleys. After crossing the river we will settle down in a place called Dugan Tsagaan for the day. Very comfortable tented night with delicious food and campfire. Tented nights. /B, L, D/
  • expand_more Day 4-5: Baruun Bayan Valley-Bumbat.
    Baruun Bayan Valley-Bumbat. After breakfast we will pack up the camp and today is our first full day of hiking. In the morning we will gradually ascend up into the river Tuul following it’s bank and then eventually we will take a left turn into a very beautiful valley called Baruun Bayan. There is a small river that flows into Tuul river that we will be camping next to for 2 nights. On a second day we hike to a different direction heading into the forested hill next to us to get higher view of the valley. On our second day hike we can have shorter and longer hike divided by lunch time. Those who wish to have little rest can come back to camp after lunch on the top of the hill and rest can go on for a longer hike. Tented nights. /B, L, D/
  • expand_more Day 6: Huh Chuluu Gol - Blue Rock River
    Huh Chuluu Gol - Blue Rock River. Today we hike up into the valley going away from big river and will continue our hike to our new campsite high up in the valley next to small creek called Huh Chuluu meaning Blue Rock. This area is not inhabited during summer time so we will have the entire valley just for ourselves. Tented night. /B, L, D/
  • expand_more Day 7-8: Zuun Bayan Valley trekking days
    Zuun Bayan Valley trekking days. During these 2 days we will be trekking over small hills going through the forest and coming up to the top with magnificent view with no one near around you. During the trek we will come into another valley called Zuun Bayan and will follow this down. In the afternoon we will be making campsites along the valley in a picturesque spots.   • expand_more Day 9: Bosgo Bridge
    Bosgo Bridge. This day we will continue trekking along the valley until we come to a Tuul river. We will have our camp set up near Bosgo Bridge, the only cross over this big river Tuul. The mountain behind us gives breathtaking panoramic view overlooking into Tuul river and its gorgeous meandering valley with willow trees growing on the side of the river. After having tea coffee it is worth a small hike up and we will be awarded with post card like view in the evening sun. Tented night. /B, L, D/
  • expand_more Day 10: Zamt Pass
    Zamt Pass. After breakfast we will cross the river Tuul onto the south side on a bridge and will follow the river in the morning but then we will turn left going up into the valley that locals use to pass over in the autumn. The border for Khentii National Park runs on the top of this mountain pass. It is our last tented night in a Mongolian wilderness. Tented night. /B, L, D/
  • expand_more Day 11:  Drive to Ulaanbaatar via Chinggis Statue. Optional shopping in the afternoon. Kempinski Hotel Khan Palace
    Drive to Ulaanbaatar via Chinggis Statue. Today after breakfast we head back to Ulaanbaatar. But we have one interesting stop before we get back to capital city. On our way one of the largest horse statue made of stainless steel stands and we will pay a visit to this place where you can actually walk up through the horse and stand on horses head. After checking in the Kempinski hotel and freshen up we will have optional shopping in the town before having farewell dinner. Kempinski Hotel Khan Palace /B, L, D/.

    International departure. Today you will be transferred to the airport for your international departures to your next destination.
